Rates vary depending on whether goods are containerized or break bulk cargo; freight charges in addition to other factors.

What documents do I need to take to Customs to clear my goods?

How much duty will I be charged on a vehicle I want to import?

Duty on vehicles depends on the cost of the vehicle, the size of its engine, whether it uses gas or diesel, and freight charges.

What duties will I be charged if I bring my personal effects back?

That depends on a number of factors, such as, the length of time you have lived overseas; the amount of personal effects; whether your stuff are new or used; the amount of freight that you paid; the current exchange rates, among others.

How long must I leave overseas before I can claim Returning National Status?

10 years.

I want to return home after leaving overseas for 13 years. What is your advice to me?

The Government has legislation in place whereby nationals who have resided abroad for more than 10 years can get concessions when returning home . Non nationals are entitled to their used personal and household effects which has been in their use and possession for over one year.  Everything else is dutiable.  We can assist you in preparing the necessary documents to ease the clearance process through Customs and Port Authority.
